When you walk into a store that has the pink “LOULOU Shops Here” sticker in the window, you know you’re in for a treat and, who knows, you just might bump into some big time celebs…
That’s what happened to me this afternoon as I spent some time shopping at the gorgeous downtown Montréal Parasuco flagship with none other than Nick, Howie and AJ (Brian was MIA).
The boys stocked up on jeans, embellished tees and hoodies with the help of some very lucky Parasuco staffers and guess what ladies: men (even superstars) shop a lot like us.
The Backstreet Boys beat New Kids On The Block to the punch in terms of regrouping when they released Never Gone in 2005, yet there seems to be little animosity between the two factions.
In fact Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is hoping for the best for the Boston-based boy band.
“We are excited and we’re actually rooting for the New Kids because what they represent is what we represent, which is good pop music that needs to come back and stick around,” Carter says prior to launching their Canadian tour in St. John’s. “So we’re rooting for them and we want them to succeed.”
Backstreet is back in Toronto tonight to play the Molson Amphitheatre.
Touring behind last year’s Unbreakable record sees the group down one member after Kevin Richardson left the band in June 2006. But Carter says the remaining quartet — Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean — have persevered.
“The hardest part was becoming acclimated to the fact that Kevin was gone and becoming used to it,” he says.
“Once we kind of got around that, we realized that it was just as strong. We could still hold the harmonies live, we still have the drive and competitive spirit to continue on and we can still put on an amazing show.”
According to reports from shows in Europe, the performances include a lot more choreography.

OTTAWA - The red carpet looked a little worse for wear, but that didn’t stop the Backstreet Boys from basking in the glory of screaming fans and bursting flashbulbs Monday night at an after-party following their concert at Scotiabank Place.
A throng of young women - and a few young men - took over half a block of Clarence Street in advance of the Boys’ arrival at the Tila Tequila nightclub. Traffic on the street was chaos as party-goers and curious on-lookers also jammed the street in front of the club, hoping to catch a glimpse of the longtime heartthrobs, known for such hits as, I Want It That Way and Larger Than Life.
A short burst of screams greeted a pristine, white stretch limousine as it pulled up and stopped in front of the club, but it did not contain the guests of honour. They arrived, instead, minutes later in a green minivan and entered the club surrounded by a flank of beefy security guards.

ADD THE BAND!
Many boy bands of yesteryear have seen their time and whittled away into faded memories of concert programs and t-shirts, likely hidden at the back of the closest.
Though bubble-gum pop band New Kids on the Block have been resurrected, the ever-familiar Backstreet Boys have never left the music scene. It’s hard to believe that 15 years have passed since they first stepped into the music world and broke concert sales records.
Even with all hardships such as major health issues, substance abuse and the loss of one member, Kevin Richardson — the Backstreet Boys just keep on going.
“It was a little difficult at first, but we were cool with it. (Kevin) moved on and so have we. We’re comfortable with what we do as four and it’s still just as strong,” Nick Carter tells Metro.
